On this day, 15 August 1947, our country was freed from the slavery of the British. Before independence, our country was a slave of the British. The British used to oppress our countrymen a lot, they used to make them work hard and they were not given anything in return for their hard work.
During the reign of the British, a very heart-wrenching incident happened which we know today as the Jallianwala Bagh massacre. Many such tragic incidents were carried out by the British.
