ReplyDeleteRabindranath Tagore was born on 7 May 1861 in a Bangla family in Kolkata's Addasanko
Thakurbari. His father's name was Devendranath Tagore and his mother's name was Sharda Devi.
Rabindranath Tagore was married to Mrinalini Devi in 1883. Tagore had written his first poem in a
mere eight years.
Rabindranath Tagore was also known as Gurudev.
The National Anthem of India, Jana Gana Mana and the National Anthem of Bengal Amar Sonar
Bangla were composed by Rabindranath Tagore. Shantiniketan was founded by Rabindra Nath
Tagore. Rabindranath Tagore was given the title of Sir, but he returned the title of Sir after the
Jallianwala Bagh massacre. He was also awarded the Nobel Prize for Literature in 1913 for
Geetanjali, the poetry of Rabindranath Tagore.
Rabindranath Tagore Ji was the first Nobel laureate person of Asia. Gurudev started drawing in his
last days. On August 7, 1941, this great man of India gave goodbye to this world.
