महात्मा गाँधी एक महान स्वतंत्रता सेनानी थे।

गाँधी जी का जन्म 2 अक्टूबर 1869 को पोरबंदर में हुआ था।
पोरबंदर गुजरात में स्थित है।
महात्मा गाँधी का पूरा नाम मोहनदास करमचंद गाँधी था।
गाँधी जी बापू के नाम से भी जाने जाते थे।
उन्हें भारत का राष्ट्रपिता भी कहा जाता है।
उनके पिता का नाम करमचंद गाँधी एवं माता का नाम पुतली बाई था।
उन्होंने अंग्रेजों के विरुद्ध असहयोग, सविनय अवज्ञा, भारत छोडो जैसे कई आंदोलन किये।
30 जनवरी 1948 को नाथूराम गोडसे ने महात्मा गाँधी को गोली मार कर हत्या कर दी थी।
