इस अभियान को महात्मा गाँधी जी के स्मरण में शुरु किया गया।
महात्मा गाँधी जी का सपना था की भारत एक स्वच्छ देश बनें।
इस अभियान को शहर से लेकर गाँव तक सभी जगह अपनाया जा रहा है।
इस अभियान के अंतर्गत लाखों घरों में तथा सामूहिक सौचालय का निर्माण किया गया।
इस अभियान के सही प्रचार से लोगों में भी बदलाव आया है, जिससे सड़कों, गलियों इत्यादि में गन्दगी में कमी आयी है।
हमें भी इस अभियान का सम्मान करना चाहिए तथा अपने घरों को ही नहीं बल्कि आस-पास भी सफाई का ध्यान रखना चाहिए।
अपने घरों तथा आस-पास सफाई रखने से हमारा ही फायदा है, हमें हमेसा स्वच्छ हवा मिलेगी तथा हम कभी बीमार नहीं पड़ेंगे।
