Introduction:- Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was a great and brave freedom fighter of our country. He took part in many movements against the British for the independence of the country. Thoughts of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose and Mahatma Gandhi never met but the goal of both the leaders was the same and that was "Freedom of India". Mahatma Gandhi was the leader of the soft party and Subhash Chandra Bose was leading the revolutionary party. Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose was not known for his freedom from non-violence but force.


Birth and Education:- Subhash Chandra Bose was born on 23 January 1897 in Cuttack village in the state of Odisha. His family was very happy and prosperous. Subhas Chandra Bose had 7 brothers and 6 sisters. He was the 9th child among the 14 children of his parents. His father's name was Jankinath Bose and his mother's name was Prabhavati Devi.


Subhash Chandra Bose received his early education from his village school. For higher education, he joined Presidency College, Calcutta. From here in the year 1915, he passed the Intermediate examination in first class. His parents wanted Subhash Chandra Bose to join the Indian Administrative Service. He was sent to Cambridge University in England to prepare for the Civil Services.


His importance in the country:- The birth anniversary of Netaji Subhash Chandra Bose, the prominent freedom fighter of India is celebrated every year on 23 January. This year i.e. from 2022, the Government of India has decided to celebrate the Republic Day celebrations from January 23 instead of January 24. This decision was taken to include the birth anniversary of Subhas Chandra Bose in the Republic Day celebrations.


From now on every year the Republic Day celebrations will start from the birth anniversary of Subhas Chandra Bose. This decision of the Government of India has been taken to honor Netaji and remember his struggles in the country's independence. This year India is celebrating the 124th birth anniversary of Subhas Chandra Bose.
